Day 2 Fiskerton Fliers

I could tell as I set off and the wind was making me practically fly along that I was going to have to ride back into it! Yes, it was windy and instead of flying along extra, extra effort was needed to just keep going.

One of the pluses of living in Lincolnshire is sharing in the history of the RAF, particularly bomber command. As well as living near to Scampton where the Dambusters flew from we are surrounded by lots of other airfields. One of them being RAF Fiskerton.

These young fliers showed extraordinary bravery and many of them never returned, all to secure our nations freedom. The above picture along with some of the runway is all that remains. With immense gratitude, lest we forget.
