Day 9 To the Roman River

Cutting straight through the city of Lincoln is the river Witham and it run’s almost entitrely through the county of Lincolnshire.  The Roman’s conquered Lincolnshire in 48AD and the river was a crucial means of moving equipment and other items.
Work started on Lincoln Cathedral in 1088 and much of the stone And other materials were moved along the river.

You can see the river to the left and to the right, through the trees is the Cathedral up on the hill.
