Day 13 Water Rail Trail

Took my recently geared, oiled, inflated rattle free bike out on the Water Rail Trail this morning and it was great.

Perfect conditions, nice and sunny and not too windy. This is one of my favourite local rides, an old railway line which goes along side the River Witham. Rode out from the city to Five Mile Bridge and as usual there was hardly anyone about.

Lovely blue sky and some tranquility, good for the soul. Got to Five Mile Bridge and faced a bit of a surprise.

Installed to stop off road motorcycles I think and presented me with a puzzle the solution of which was tip my bike up and squeeze through!

Ride home from the bridge was steady but started to get cold once the sun went in.
