At the start of my ride today I was extremely pleased that I had invested in some puncture resistant tyres. Invested in a couple of Kevlar lined multi tread tyres, were on offer at the time and only cost me £20 for the pair which I thought was a bargain. The review I read that made up my mind to buy them was by a guy who cycled from London to Romania and did not have a single flat! At the start of my ride I was on a track I had been on many times before, I noticed up ahead what I thought was ice/snow but was in fact broken glass, too late I went crunching through it before I could react. I decided to keep going and was well happy to discover that the tyres were still solid, nice one.
Cycled a route I had done quite a few time before, part of it goes off road down a track which is usually fairly solid. Not today! It started out ok but then half way I ended up cycling on pretty slick mud which had me sliding all over. I found the best thing to do was to keep peddling, keep up the momentum and not touch the breaks. Thankfully I got to the other end intact but needed to give the bike a bit of a scrub when I got home.
